Hi, I’m Mick, on the road in Hervey Bay along with my good mate, The Big Yellow Kennel. I’m your Dash DogWash Mobile Dog Groomer for Urraween, Queensland.
I provide dog washing and dog grooming services in: Urraween, Kawungan, Wondunna, Bunya Creek, Sunshine Acres, Walligan, Susan River, Scarness and Pialba (4655)
My inspiration to become a dog groomer was simple, the affection of animals, in particular dogs. I longed for the freedom to burst out of the office and forge a future of my own making in the Big Yellow Kennel. I am constantly inspired by the changing scenery, constant positive feedback from the doggos and helping fur owners to forge deeper connections with their beloved furry family members. Imagine getting to talk to dogs all day! I was inspired to make that my reality.

While I have owned and interacted with a wide range of dog breeds, my favourites will always be Labradors. They are intelligent, empathetic and playful all day, every day. I have owned two and, while their personalities are very different, their intelligence and responsiveness are astounding. My Black Lab, Bailey, walked through the cane fields with me every morning, loved going to the beach and greeted me at the door every afternoon. He grew up with my daughters and slept outside their door as babies dealing with colic and reflux. He was the beloved babysitter, constantly alert for their cry or waking moment then running to tell us that we were needed. The best in house care we could have asked for! Cancer got him in 2020 at the ripe old age of 13.
I have a background in education for 25 years and am bursting out of the classroom and office and into The Big Yellow Kennel. I have spent years developing relationships with families in the Wide Bay Region and supporting their emotional, mental and educational development for their children. Now I get to use these skills to forge relationships with families to support the health and well being of their fur babies. I’m sure I’ll face significantly less arguments about why we are completing the work!

Mick did my little Zoe this morning. She is not sociable at all, he took her for a walk first then did the bath my granddaughter and myself could hear him talking to her. She looked and smelt absolutely gorgeous when he finished, just a ball of fluff. My whole family has commented on her and Mick was brilliant. Zoe is booked in every month, thank you so much!

Mick washed our dog Skye today and we found him to be very friendly, caring and professional person and we would not hesitate to recommend him to our friends. Even Skye was so happy to have him wash her she didn’t want to get out of the tub. Skye also received a welcome to the Dash team gift just for her!!! So if you are reading this review please give him a go you will not be disappointed. I rate a ten out of ten
