Lisa, Dash DogWash St Albans

Lisa, Dash DogWash St Albans

Six Months down the track from buying her Dash DogWash business in St Albans, Vic, Lisa says she is feeling really good about her new business in mobile dog grooming.

“I’m much more confident with a larger variety of dogs and so happy with the great grooms I’m able to do”.

Reflecting back on her first weeks Lisa shares that it was quite overwhelming learning the ropes of the business.

“I definitely had imposter syndrome in those first few weeks but I knew this would be the case. It was a bit of a ‘fake it till you make it’ situation, but I guess that’s the way when learning anything new. Now, I’m so much more confident in myself, not just the business – it’s been a real growth experience”.

After six months Lisa has many truly lovely regular clients now. In some ways the customers come on the journey with our groomers and phenomenal relationships are built as a consequence.

“I did some first time grooms on quite a few puppies and to now see the progress they are making and the bonds I have formed with the dogs and their pawrents is incredibly rewarding”.

“Honestly, I can’t imagine what it would be like to start a business totally on you own. While I’ve not really asked for too much help from Dash DogWash support team, it’s comforting to know the help is there when needed. There’s always someone on the other end of the phone and I’m looking forward to my team support person popping by soon for a check in.”

As Dash DogWash and Blue Wheelers are so well aligned, we often find that our Groomers form great friendships with other franchisees from either Brand. They often bounce off each other. Lisa from Dash DogWash, St Albans has loved chatting to Cheryl who runs Blue Wheelers, Caroline Springs as a good example. This tends to happen nationally.

Asked if she has an regrets about her decision to go from corporate life to dog grooming, Lisa gives us an emphatic……

“Absolutely not. I never expected it to be easy and just fall in my lap, I did my homework and knew what to expect. The decision to join was not on a whim, it was strategically planned, and I do not have one single regret”.

Leaning into the discussion about Lisa’s training, she tells us she loved the detailed training and the course content. It’s not just about dog grooming, Dash DogWash teaches you to run a professional business and has on road support in the first week when you hit the road.

“ May from Dash DogWash Vic Support was really great, she has quite a calming nature and gave me lots of tips without intervening”.

Nobody likes to talk about money Lisa, but we have to ask. Are you happy with where things are at financially with your Business?

“Yes. I’ve not reached my goal quite yet, but it’s certainly headed in the right direction. I did not think I would so busy during the winter months, but it’s really booming. Of course there is still room to grow. I’m told the phones go crazy when Spring arrives.”

Lisa, maybe it’s a case of be careful what you wish for. 😂

We wish Lisa continued success with her Dash DogWash business and look forward to checking in again for an update down the track.
